Moving Is Emotional.
Can we just take a minute to acknowledge that moving is so much more than a financial transaction? Moving is emotional - making homes out of houses is what it's all about, right?!
It's really easy to minimize this component of a purchase or sale. People move all the time, but every move comes for a different reason; families grow or change, jobs shift or relocate, relationships end, or someone passes away, to name a few.
Houses hold deep memories of certain people and meaningful events, and leaving them can signal the end of an era, whether it be positive or not.
Sometimes moving is full of excitement and optimism for what comes next, and sometimes it's full of sadness and loss for what is left behind. And sometimes, it's a wild mix of all of it at once.
So consider this your reminder to find time to honour those deep feelings amidst all of the paperwork, timelines, finances, and logistics of moving that demand your immediate attention. Once that stuff is addressed and the dust from the brain work settles, it's ok to let your heart have a chance to feel and process all that your own personal experience is.
And make sure that your Realtor is hearing and understanding where you're coming from, where you're at, and where you envision going next. Your real estate journey is as much about the heart as it is about the brain. Just like most things in life 🤍
